Most of our firefighters were stationed in the commercial district of Prattville. Our assistant chief was doing search and rescue through the homes that were hit so hard. The pictures provided here are ones that other people took and gave to us. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the families and businesses affected by this terrible event.

My name is Jennifer Vaugh. I live in Yokosuka, Japan. I was born and raised in Prattville, Alabama. I am sorry to see the aftermath photos of the tornado that hit there. A few of my friends and thier parents houses were hit by this tornado. I am happy to see my mom (Velida) helping out the community! Kudos to everyone at the Independence Volunteer Fire Department!!
